Decorah Mayor Lorraine Borowski has appointed two city council members to a task force looking for land downtown on which to build a new elementary school.
The original concept for the task force was to have two city council representatives, two school board representatives and Decorah Park-Rec Director Andy Nimrod serve on it. Borowski has appointed Dan Bellrichard and Johanna Bergan as the city council's representatives.
But city officials now are suggesting that Decorah High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Adam Riley should also serve on the task force. City officials say they want Riley as part of the group because there are many school district and Park-Rec activities that share city and school district facilities.
