Letter to the Editor: "We are voting to give the Iowa Utility Board an opportunity to review this case."

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Lynne Zotalis of Decorah):

"In response to Marlene Sorenson's letter on April 16th, may I submit we are not voting to take away jobs, we are not voting to decide whether we will have a publicly owned utility. We are voting to give the Iowa Utility Board an opportunity to review this case. A 'Yes' vote from the city is required before the city of Decorah could decide to file an application for creating a municipal electric utility to the Iowa Utility Board, and only then would the IUB get to review the case and examine the facts.

Personally, I don't know the facts. Both sides claim to have them. The IUB should be able to examine our particular situation and report back to us so that we can have an educated response."
