EARL Public Transit, a program of Northeast Iowa Community Action, is announcing a new pilot route with fixed stops on Thursday evenings in Decorah.
The route will run from 4:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with the first stop at the Dahl Centennial Union at Luther College and the last stop at First Lutheran Church, with other stops at the Oneota Co-op, and Walmart. The route will begin this coming Thursday, with a $2 fare that allows riders unlimited stops along the route during its service hours.
"Since this is a trial run, the times and stops may shift as we determine the best way to deploy the new route," EARL Public Transit Mobility Manager Sam Castro said. "One of the top responses from the 2017 Community Transportation Needs Assessment was expanded hours. This route is a first step towards addressing needs that are important to the community."
The timetable with the specific stops, along with future adjustments will be posted on EARL Public Transit's Facebook page.
