"Grandparenting 101" class offered by Winneshiek Medical Center

Winneshiek Medical Center has begun accepting registrations for a free "Grandparenting 101" class on Thursday, April 12th, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in WMC conference room B1 (enter through the east entrance of the hospital, door E1).

The class topics include safety tips, car seat basics, infant feeding/breastfeeding and labor and delivery changes.

"The experience of becoming a grandparent is anxious, yet nerve-racking to think about," explained WMC's Denise Duffy, a grandmother and creator of the grandparent program at WMC.  She adds, "This program is built to help ease the nerves of new grandparents, teaching them the most current techniques when it comes to caring for their precious grandchildren."
