(Several people, including former Decorah Parks and Recreation Department Director Rick Edwards, took us to task for referring in two news stories this week to "Decorah School District's baseball and softball diamonds near Decorah City Hall." They pointed out--quite correctly--that the softball diamond property is owned by the City of Decorah and not by the school district.)
Mr. Answer Person says: "We knew that! Since there are two softball diamonds downtown, we wanted some way to differentiate between the two, which is why we used the phrase we used. We are showing a picture from Beacon software which shows the division between city-owned land and school district-owned land in that area, with city-owned land outlined in blue."
