The City of Decorah will be developing a brochure that discusses some of the most commonly asked questions relating to the May 1st vote on whether to look into having a municipal electric utility.
City Administrator Chad Bird says there's been "a lot of misinformation" involving the upcoming vote. He'd like to prepare a brochure to respond to some of the most commonly asked questions, such as "Why are Luther students allowed to vote?" and "Why can't Alliant Energy customers living outside the city limits vote?"
City officials are also discussing several other means of educating the public about the vote, including town halls in each of Decorah's five wards.
