Letter to the Editor: "Get ready to open your wallets if you vote 'yes' to a municipal electric utility"

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Dave Ohlert of Decorah):

"Voters of Decorah--Think long and hard about what you want to get yourself into.  I was told that Decorah Energy would be run the same way as our wastewater treatment plan.  Did they mean "In the red with steadily rising costs?" 

If I recall right, when we built the new plant, it was the best thing since motherhood and apple pie and would bring down our payments.  How's that working for you??  Here we face the same projections with no promise of better or even equal service.

Get ready to open your wallets again if you vote 'yes.'  If you can vote, register and vote 'NO.'"
