Decorah Power is starting a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for the May 1st referendum

Decorah Power is turning to a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds to help pay for the costs of publicizing its position in the upcoming May 1st referendum.

The group has created www.crowdpac.com/c/decorah-power to offer an easy way for people to make contributions.  The organization has set a goal of raising $3,000 on-line.  Decorah Power says the money will be used to pay for yard signs, advertising and other expenses connected to the vote on whether the City of Decorah should apply to the Iowa Utilities Board for permission to buy out Alliant Energy and operate a municipal electric utility in Decorah.
