Calmar man ticketed following Highway 52 accident

A Calmar man was ticketed following an accident around 5:30 Thursday morning on Highway 52 at Middle Calmar Road.

57-year-old James Herold was traveling west on Highway 52 and lost control of his vehicle, going into the north ditch.  The vehicle struck a large metal light pole and a highway marker before coming to rest in the ditch.  Herold left the scene of the accident.  He was ticketed for failure to maintain control.

The accident did an estimated $16,000 in damages.
