Winneshiek County officials are working to draft a form that must be completed every time a county employee takes time off for a doctor's appointment.
County Engineer Lee Bjerke says he's been concerned about "a rash of doctor's appointments" among employees and how they have been turned into "all-day affairs."
Supervisors agreed with Bjerke's proposal to create a form to be filled out, giving details of each doctor's appointment--but they also want the form to be used in every other county department.
Attorney John Anderson will be asked to review the form. When it is approved, supervisors want each county department to have their own form--but using the uniform language approved by Anderson.
