Decorah Police Department asking for help in a vandalism and theft incident

The Decorah Police Department is investigating a vandalism and theft incident that occurred Tuesday evening on Mill Street.

At approximately 10:30 p.m., the Decorah Police Department received a report from 308 South Mill Street that a gay pride flag had just been stolen from the front of the residence. Officers arrived a short time later and discovered the flag was gone and the flag pole was damaged. Total damage was estimated to be approximately $45 - $50.From tracks found in the snow, it is believed the suspect fled to the south of the residence on Mill Street.
