The Decorah Police Department reports two OWI arrests and one Disorderly Conduct charge over the weekend

On Friday at 11:40 a.m., Decorah Police officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the 900 block of Montgomery Street in Decorah. The parties had left the area before officers arrived at the scene. 39-year-old Alfredo Mercado Jr. of Postville was later located and charged with Disorderly Conduct. Decorah Police were assisted by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office, Allamakee County Sheriff's Office, and the Postville Police Department.

On Saturday at 3:40 a.m., Luther College security reported a person was passed out in his vehicle while it was running. Upon arrival, police were able to wake the driver, 21-year-old Luke Hermanson of Waukon. Hermanson was later arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) 1st offense, and was transported to the Winneshiek County Jail.

On Sunday at 1:40 a.m., an officer stopped and arrested 18-year-old Andrew Nowacki of Minneapolis on the Luther College campus. Nowacki was charged with Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) First Offense, and was booked into the Winneshiek County Jail.
