The Decorah High School Robotics Club sent two teams to league championship competition at Fort Dodge High School recently.
The Norwegian Ninjas (freshmen/sophomore team) finished the competition in 8th place out of 24 teams. They lost in a close match in the semifinals to the first place team. The Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Men and Women (junior/senior team) finished in 4th place, they also lost in the semi-final.  However, making it to the semifinal round of the competition is the farthest any Decorah Robotics team has ever advanced.

Both teams also won their first awards ever. The Ninjas were given the Design Award, awarded to the team whose robot demonstrates the best balance between efficiency and aesthetics. The Wacky Wavers were awarded the Rockwell Collins Innovate Award for their creativity in the unique use of spinning wheels to pull in foam blocks and their professional documentation of the design process of their robot.
