Housing rehabilitation grants are now available from Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines has awarded Upper Explorerland Regional Planning Commission $733,700 to be used to assist 29 households in Northeast Iowa with homeowner rehabilitation projects.
A maximum of $23,000 per project will be awarded in the form of a secured grant. The grants will be awarded to homeowners in Winneshiek, Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette and Howard Counties with household incomes of less than 80 percent of HUD income guidelines. Funding will be geared towards elderly and special needs households.
The Homeowner Rehabilitation Program is being sponsored by Freedom Bank of Postville-Elkader-Monona. Applications will be accepted by UERPC on a continuous basis.
