The Decorah FFA will be participating in National FFA Week February 17th--24th.
During the week, FFA members, alumni, sponsors, and chapters everywhere will spread awareness about the FFA organization and the impact it has on its members everyday. FFA members develop premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education. This year's theme is "I can. We will."
"Our chapter exemplifies this year's theme by growing individually as leaders and as a chapter, working to build our community and strengthen agriculture," commented Decorah FFA Advisor Joni Bruvold.
To promote FFA, members of the Decorah chapter will participate in four dress-up days throughout the week. These days include Official FFA Dress Tuesday, Chapter T-Shirt Wednesday, Fandom Day Thursday, and Farmer Friday.
"These days will be a fun way for our chapter to promote FFA and agriculture throughout our school and community," said Blake Courtney, Decorah FFA President. "We are always looking for ways to spark the interest of possible new members." The chapter arranged for Carolan Photography to take professional photographs of their members.
The Decorah FFA is currently fifty-eight members strong. Throughout the year, the chapter conducts activities to promote agriculture and FFA awareness while assisting with student, chapter, and community development.
This year the Decorah FFA Chapter will be hosting Sub-Districts at the high school on February 20th, starting at 5:00 p.m. Students from surrounding schools will come to participate in leadership development events. The Decorah FFA Chapter invites the community to help celebrate National FFA Week by attending the Sub District FFA event.
