Next step taken for Decorah and North Winn reorganization

The new board for the combined Decorah and North Winneshiek Schools will be "organized" at 5:00 p.m. on March 12 at the Decorah Administration Office. The organizational meeting will be conducted by the Area Education Agency. At that meeting the new board members will be sworn in, their staggered terms set, and administration officials appointed.

The new board will include four of the five existing Decorah School Board members: Ron Fadness, John Hjelle, Brian Petersburg, and Krista Vanden Brink. North Winneshiek will appoint one person to the new board.

The organizational meeting is expected to last only 20 minutes. The regular Decorah Community School Board will convene after that meeting at 5:30 p.m.
