Parking lot accident results in $9,500 in damages

The Decorah Police Department reports three vehicles were damaged in the Fareway parking lot Tuesday just before 7:00 p.m.

The report states 69-year-old Inez Eddy of Decorah was attempting to back out of a parking space in the Fareway parking lot when the vehicle shifted into reverse while her foot was on the gas pedal. The vehicle sped backwards, spun around, and struck two unoccupied vehicles that were legally parked behind her.

A 2017 GMC Sierra sustained $5,000 of damage, and a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee sustained $4,000 of damage. Eddy's 1992 Honda Accord sustained $500 of damage.
