The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office reports two people were involved in a motor vehicle accident Monday afternoon as a result of the slippery roads.
79-year-old LaVonne Sharp of Decorah was traveling on Highway 52 when she met a snowplow and slowed down to a stop on the highway. Sharp's 2013 Chevrolet Equinox was then hit in the rear by a 2006 Freightliner semi driven by 78-year-old Milton Nelson of Decorah. Nelson had attempted to brake and swerved to try to avoid Sharp.
The report indicated the roadways were slick from the snow that was blowing. The accident resulted in $25,000 of damage. No injuries were reported.
