Motor vehicle accident causes $7,000 in damages

The Decorah Police Department reports two motorists were involved in an accident on Highway 9.

24-year-old Savanna Hunter of Mabel, MN was traveling east on Highway 9 and did not see 46-year-old Brooke Beckman of Ridgeway who was stopped on Highway 9 waiting to turn north onto Ridgewood Drive. Hunter's 2004 Kia struck the rear of Beckman's 2008 Hyundai causing major damage to both vehicles.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and no injuries were reported.
