Proposed city budget for Decorah is $10.8 million

Next year's City of Decorah budget is going to look a lot like this year's City of Decorah budget.

The Decorah City Council held a budget work session Wednesday night, reviewing a tentative budget of $10.8 million--which was just about at this year's $10,854,872 city budget.  Next year's property tax levy for city purposes is proposed to be $14.085 per $1,000 of assessed valuation--a slight decrease from this year's rate of $14.146 per $1,000 of assessed valuation, due largely to a higher total valuation of property in the city.

The tentative 2018-2019 city budget must go before a public hearing, which will be held either February 19th or March 5th.
