City and county officials have begun to explore the possibility of expanding safety programs for bike riders.
Most existing bike safety programs have focused on children. However, members of the City/County Trails Committee on Wednesday also discuss adult safety programs. These could include night rides and walks to encourage people to get bike lights and reflective gear. Another idea would be to install signs along Trout Run Trial to remind people to pass on the left.
Safe Route to School Program staffer Ashley Christensen told the committee Wednesday "Education is huge." She says there's been interest expressed in the past for adult bike safety education program.
