Alliant Energy officials are asking the City of Decorah for a chance to present their full feasibility study at the next Decorah City Council meeting.
A statement from Alliant says it will "provide information that will show the gaps between the studies and what costs need to be added to the Decorah Power study."
Alliant says, "Decorah Power's proposal also grossly underestimates the value of our system and places it at $5 million. An analysis of our system by Concentric Energy Advisors puts our buyout cost at more than $50 million dollars."
A follow-up statement from Alliant states, "Our $50 million dollar value is an "all-in" number that reflects taxpayer and utility customer costs to get to day one of operations. We believe it is a more holistic and complete measurement of the costs that Decorah taxpayers could have to pay. We are reviewing Decorah Power's study to understand its methodology."
