The Decorah Masters Swim Team has begun holding practices

The Decorah Masters Swim Team has begun holding practices.

The group of community members and Luther faculty, staff and students meet on Tuesday mornings, Wednesday evenings, Friday lunchtime and Sunday afternoons.  Dues are $36 a month, with an attendance credit for Luther swimmers.

This group has been meeting since Fall of 2014 and depending on the month average 20-30 participants.

Member Brittany Cord says, "We typically have four lanes of the Luther pool and the swimmers are self organized by ability. The workouts are different every practice. Some focus on speed with mostly sprint sets, some focus on endurance with longer distances, and others focus on a particular technique like breathing or kicking, etc.  The workouts are structured with different goals/benchmarks for different abilities and our members will swim anywhere from 1500 - 3000+ yards in an hour."
