The Decorah Elks Club chapter has formed a charitable foundation and is expanding their benevolent activities.
The club has done fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness, young adults with disabilities (Get2Gether), veterans and other projects. The Decorah Elks Charitable Foundation has been established to address the needs of children in Winneshiek County, as well in Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette and Howard Counties.
The Decorah Elks have begun raising donations for "Project Care," which focuses on helping young people in foster care who were not only graduating from high school but "aging out" of Iowa's foster care system; "Royal Family Kids in Iowa," which provides summer camp for foster children, ages 6 -12; and the Decorah Middle School 8th grade Washington D.C. trip.
All contributions to the foundation are tax deductible. They can be sent to Decorah Elks Lodge No. 443, 105 River Street, Decorah, IA 52101-1757
