The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office spent a busy 24 hours

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office has responded to five separate incidents in the last 24 hours.

The most serious case occurred at 9:00 Monday night in Calmar.  Earlier the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office conducted a search warrant at 106 ½ N Maryville Street.  19-year-old Cyrek Nelson was not located at the time of the search warrant, but felony charges were filed involving methamphetamine possession, as well as a charge of keeping a premises or vehicle for controlled substance.  A warrant was issued for Nelson's arrest.  He was located, arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail at 9:00 p.m. Monday.  The case remains under investigation.  Other arrests and charges are pending, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Around 8:15 Monday morning a New Hampton man, 36-year-old Carl Carter, was arrested on Highway 24 near Jackson Junction and charged with a felony count of third offense operating while under the influence, driving while license is revoked, operating without an interlock device, failure to have SR22 insurance and open container.

Around 12:30 Monday afternoon, a Cresco woman, 33-year-old Krista Reinsvold, was arrested on a warrant for a felony charge of Third Degree Burglary in Howard County.  Reinsvold was then served a Winneshiek County 3rd Degree Burglary warrant.

Shortly before 2:00 Monday afternoon, 58-year-old James Bachmurski of Decorah was arrested on a warrant for a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.  He was taken to the Winneshiek County Jail.

Finally, around 2:00 Tuesday morning, 38-year-old Jacob Seelinger of Decorah was arrested on a warrant for Second Degree Burglary and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail.
