New Minowa Players will hold auditions for its 2018 Spring Production of "Next to Normal!"
"Next to Normal" is a rock musical which tells the story of a suburban family's hidden struggle with a mother's mental illness and with lingering grief from the loss of a son years ago.
Auditions at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 24th and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 27th, are open to anyone of high school age or older. All interested are asked to prepare a 30-90 second monologue, as well as 16-32 bars of a song of their choice to sing a cappella, and should also bring a full list of conflicts between February 1st and April 8th. There are 6-7 parts available, including two male and one female part for younger actors (teenagers and young adults) and one male, one female and one or two either male or female part for actors 30 and older.
Callbacks will be held Monday, January 29th, at 7:00 P.M. at the same location (New Minowa Players, 906 S. Mill St., Decorah. Anyone who auditions and is requested for a callback will be notified no later than late evening on Saturday, January 27th. All interested in auditioning are asked to keep the evening of the 29th open in case they are requested for a callback.
Performances of "Next to Normal" will run April 5th - 8th.
