The Kansas Bureau of Investigation is releasing additional details about a Kansas man arrested Thursday in Winneshiek County by Sheriff's Deputies.
The KBI says 45-year-old David Huggins, a Linn County, Kansas Sheriff's Deputy, had been working as a school resource officer in the Pleasanton School District, around 60 miles south of Kansas City.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says it was contacted on October 30th by Linn County Sheriff Paul Filla, who requested KBI assistance in investigating information brought forward by Pleasanton School District Superintendent Travis Laver.
Huggins was removed from his role at the school on October 20th, was placed on administrative leave on November 29th, and was terminated from the Sheriff's Office on January 3rd. He has now been charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a minor and sexual exploitation of a child.
Following his arrest, Huggins was booked into the Winneshiek County Jail. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation says, "Extradition to Kansas will be pursued."
