The "Iowa Starting Line" website is reporting Decorah native Rob Sand has set a fundraising record in his race for State Auditor

Decorah native Rob Sand is getting a lot of financial support in his campaign for State Auditor in Iowa.

The website "Iowa Starting Line" is reporting Sand has raised over $200,000 so far for his campaign.  More than 800 people have made donations so far--a figure that is roughly 250 people higher than Sand's Republican opponent, State Auditor Mary Mosiman, brought in during her entire election campaign while running for office for the first time in 2014.

"Iowa Starting Line" calls Sand's fundraising figures "eye-popping."
