The Decorah Parks and Recreation Board has approved a bid to install a new toddler waterslide at the Decorah Swimming Pool.
The proposal from Burbach Aquatics--the same firm that installed the large waterslide at the pool last year--is for around $9,000, which includes the cost of the slide itself, the fees from a contractor to install the slide and engineering fees and other miscellaneous expenses.
Park-Rec Director Andy Nimrod says the waterslide would have a Nordic theme and would look a little like a Viking Ship.
The money for the project will come from a $25,000 donation and from either the Pool Improvement Fund or from Hotel/Motel Tax receipts.
The project was approved Thursday night on a 4-0 vote.
