Unidentified driver fled the scene of an accident

The Decorah Police Department reports an unidentified driver fled the scene after being involved in a traffic accident over the weekend.

At 4:52 p.m. Friday, 72-year-old Joyce Langreck of Decorah was turning westbound into the outside lane of Highway 9 from Short Street on a green light. Meanwhile, another driver was turning westbound onto Highway 9 from the south side of the intersection. The unidentified driver failed to stay in the inside lane and struck the left fender of Langreck's 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. The driver, who was driving an older model red Jeep Cherokee-style vehicle, fled the scene heading westbound on Highway 9. No tag or driver's information was obtained.
