Slippery roads lead to a motor vehicle accident

The Decorah Police Department reports snow covered roads were a factor in a traffic accident Friday night.

19-year-old Benjamin Klimesh of Spillville was turning south on Mechanic Street from Water Street when he slid into the rear driver door of the vehicle driven by 68-year-old James Norton of Decorah. Norton was stopped at the red light waiting to turn left from Mechanic Street onto West Water Street.

Klimesh's 2002 Chevrolet Silverado sustained minor damage to the left front fender and Norton's 2005 Chevrolet Colorado sustained an estimated $3,000 of damage to the rear driver side door. No injuries were reported.
