Oneota Drive Bridge will probably look like the Fifth Avenue Bridge

Work on the Oneota Drive Bridge replacement is making progress.

Crews have installed the detour that will be used when the old bridge is removed--a detour that crosses the water that comes down from The Cut, then heads back to Oneota Drive.  The detour is necessary so that residents of several homes on Oneota Drive can have access to Highway 52.

Meanwhile, city officials have been studying at least three proposed designs of the new bridge and now are favoring a design similar to the one of the Fifth Avenue Bridge.

The current schedule calls for picking a plan by April and for letting bids on the project in September, with construction beginning next November.

Traffic will then head back to Oneota Drive
The current bridge will be torn down
