West Side Early Childhood Center recently hosted a family event open to all area preschool and transitional kindergarten families.

The theme of the event was Joy to the World. Students and families spread joy throughout the community by collecting donations and making dog treats for the Humane Society of Northeast Iowa, creating holiday cards for the troops, and decorating holiday cookies.

The children decorated one cookie for themselves and one to give to someone they care about. Families also played reindeer games and had some Grinch fun.

A big thanks to the high school students and Luther athletes who came to volunteer and to the Humane Society of Northeast Iowa for bringing some furry friends to visit!
