It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in downtown Decorah

Downtown Decorah looks a little different this holiday season. The deteriorating Christmas wreaths have been laid to rest, and, in their place, the trees along Water Street have been adorned with lights.

Employees from the professional Christmas decorating company "Christmas Decor" could be seen high up in the trees Monday and Tuesday, wrapping the downtown trees with white lights that will be on the trees until the end of January. Funds for the tree lighting project have been provided by a $2,000 donation from the Self Supporting Municipal Improvement District (SSMID) and from private contributions.
