Decorah's Josey Jewell earns award for the best linebacker in college football

Decorah native Josey Jewell has been named the best linebacker in the nation. The 2017 Jack Lambert Award was announced Monday by the Touchdown Club of Columbus.

Jewell has had 125 solo tackles this season, a total that leads the Big Ten and ranks third nationally.  He is one of five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Award.

Jewell has 426 career tackles, fifth all-time in program history.

The Jack Lambert Award will be presented Saturday, February 17th, in Columbus, Ohio.
