Motor vehicle accident causes $7,000 in damages

The Decorah Police Department reports two vehicles were involved in a traffic accident at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

43-year-old Bethany Ellingson of Waukon and 59-year-old Judy Borsheim of Decorah were traveling south on Montgomery Street. Both drivers were slowing down as they approached other traffic stopped for the stop lights but Ellingson failed to stop in time and struck Borsheim.

Ellingson's 2010 Ford Focus sustained $5,000 of damage and had to be towed. Borsheim's 2016 Jeep Cherokee sustained $2,000 of damage. No injuries were reported.
