New white lights will be strung around all trees in downtown Decorah on Monday and Tuesday, November 27th and 28th. Christmas Décor, a business operated by All American Turf of Decorah, will be doing the installation.
Money for the project has been pledged from the downtown Decorah Self-Supporting Municipal Improvement District Board in the amount of $2,000. Many private contributions have also been raised, but the Chamber of Commerce is still around $2,000 short.
You can donate to the project by visiting the Chamber's website: http://www.decorahareachamber.com/ or by dropping off a check at the Chamber offices on Water Street.
In addition to the lights around trees, Helping Services has donated a display that has been installed in front of Alliant Energy. Other displays have been put up at Wayside Park, off College Drive.
The Downtown Decorah Betterment Association will also be putting white lights around trees and other structures in Water Street Park.
