City approves contract for work on Dug Road

The Decorah City Council has approved a bid of $203,744 from Holland Construction for the Trout Run Trail – Dug Road Improvement project. The bid is only for the portion of the degraded Dug Road  near the Decorah Campground, and only for soil modification and a reconstituted surface. It does not include final hardsurfacing, which will be delayed until next spring.

70 percent of the project will be covered with FEMA funding, with another 15 percent from the State.
