Motor vehicle accident causes $3,000 in damages

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 26-year-old Samuel Zoulek of Decorah was traveling southbound at the intersection of River Street and West Broadway Street after coming to a stop at the stop sign. As he was halfway through the intersection, his 2004 Ford F150 was struck by 61-year-old William Reid of Decorah's 2010 Subaru when he failed to stop for the posted stop sign.

Zoulek's vehicle sustained $2,000 in damages and Reid's vehicle sustained $1,000 in damages.

Reid was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device.
