Leaf pick-up program continues in Decorah

Posted: Sun, Nov 5, 2017 2:42 PM

City of Decorah Street Department crews will be collecting leaves in the Luther College neighborhood starting on Monday.  People living in Wards 4 & 5 should have leaves raked into the curb.  City crews will pick up only leaves—the vacuum cannot pick up sticks, brush, garden refuse or other yard waste.  Rake leaves into windrow piles—crews are slowed down if they have to look for and handle separate leaf piles.  Please avoid parking near leaf piles on scheduled pickup days.

For people living in other wards in the city, there's round-the-clock leaf drop off at the Street Department's headquarters at 108 Railroad Avenue.  The city's compost site on Trout Run Road will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. weekdays, as well as 8:00 a.m. until noon Saturday and until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evenings.
