Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office reports responding to three incidents

Shortly after 7:30 a.m on Tuesday, 24-year-old Kathryn Franzen of Lawler was traveling southbound on Locust Road/County Road W38 when she struck a deer which caused the airbags to deploy causing $15,000 in damages to her 2013 Ford Escape. The Decorah Fire Department, Winneshiek County First Responders and Decorah Ambulance responded due to possible entrapment.  No ambulance transport was needed.

At 7:16 p.m Tuesday, 30-year-old William Colvin Jr. of Cresco was incarcerated in the Winneshiek County Jail and was served a Howard County warrant for violation of probation. Colvin remains in the Winneshiek County Jail.

At 2:29 a.m. Wednesday,  21-year-old Chloe Hughes of Postville was stopped south of Decorah and charged with Operating While Under the Influence 2nd Offense and Driving While License Denied or Revoked. Hughes was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail.
