Riverview Center in Dubuque says it is hiring a therapist to serve Winneshiek, Allamakee and Clayton Counties, thanks to a United Way of Dubuque Area Tri-State grant.
The money, along with grants from United Way of Winneshiek County, the Winneshiek County Board of Supervisors and the Clayton County Board of Supervisors, is allowing Riverview to hire Decorah resident Nikki Brevig as a therapist. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She completed her 700 hour practicum at Northeast Iowa Behavioral Health and will graduate with an MA in Counseling and Psychological Services from St. Mary's University in December.
Riverview Center is a nonprofit agency committed to providing free, confidential, compassionate, client-centered care for individuals affected by sexual violence in Allamakee, Clayton, Dubuque, Winneshiek, Benton, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Chickasaw, Delaware, Fayette, Howard, Jones, and Linn Counties in Iowa; and for individuals affected by sexual and domestic violence in Jo Daviess and Carroll Counties in Illinois.
