County supervisors approve letter to be sent to the City of Decorah, asking for money for city's share of computer equipment

Winneshiek County supervisors are asking the City of Decorah to send the county $34,267.28 for past use of IT equipment.

This is a change from the county's original request of $45,967.74, which was based on the city and county continuing their sharing agreement for computer equipment for the seven-year life of the IT equipment.  The city dissolved its agreement with the county to share IT personnel, then the county dissolved its agreement to share IT server equipment, so the original request was adjusted to reflect those changes.

County officials had also opposed a city request that $8,000 owed to the city from the county for its portion of repairs to the Law Enforcement Center roof be applied to the IT equipment bill.  County officials wanted to keep the two payments separate because of bookkeeping concerns, but have now agreed to the city's request.

The Decorah City Council is expected to respond to the letter at its November 6th meeting.  County officials have given the city until November 10th to make their payment of $26,267.28.
