When the Winneshiek County Courthouse Annex is finished being remodeled this winter, it will be the new location for all county meetings, including the Board of Supervisors, Planning & Zoning Commission and County Conservation Board.
Supervisors on Monday reviewed remodeling plans for the building, which has been empty since a social services agency moved out its offices earlier this year. The plans call for removing most of the interior walls in the 35 foot by 30 foot building, creating an open space that would house a meeting space, with room for members of the public as well.
The roof of the building was repaired earlier this month, so the rest of the work on the building will be interior remodeling. A second bathroom will be added, new carpeting will be installed and A/V equipment will be added.
County officials will solicit bids from contractors on the work.
