Care for Children Foundation from Altoona has delivered a gift of therapy items and educational toys for pediatric patients at Winneshiek Medical Center. The gift, valued at over $2,600, was based off a wish list from WMC nurses and therapists, and included specific items like speech aids, an iPad, sensory toys and books.

Care for Children Foundation was started the summer of 2013 by James Cory, who at the time was 15 years old and looking for a way to help others.  Cory and his family decided to help hospitals throughout Iowa.  The Cory family and supporters have continued to fund raise each year, mostly though an annual golf outing.  Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah is the twelfth hospital in Iowa to receive a gift.
