Decorah Mart participates in "Pink at the Pump"

Decorah Mart is participating in the promotion "Pink at the Pump" for the month of October in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

During the month of October, for every gallon of E15 gas that is purchased, the store will donate 3 cents to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Hormel Institute to help fight breast cancer through early detection, education, support services, and research.

E15 is approved for use in all 2001 and newer vehicles, and contains less toxins and cancer causing chemicals than straight petroleum gasoline.

Decorah Mart is partnering with Iowa Corn Growers Association for this promotion. E15 pumps each have a pink nozzle handle, making it easy to tell which pump is E15.

Store manager Craig Patel says this is the first year Decorah Mart has carried E15. It's the second year the state of Iowa has promoted "Pink at the Pump."

Patel said, " We decided it helps out, and if it helps raise awareness, we are happy to help out."

Decorah Mart will be having a special on Wednesday, October 11th, from 11:00 a.m.--1:00 p.m. and E15 will be 10 cents off per gallon.
