Parked truck slips out of gear and crosses three lanes of traffic before striking a light pole

Thursday morning at 10:20, a 1990 Chevrolet truck parked in the front lot of Winneshiek Medical Center slipped out of gear.

The truck went down a hill, crossing Montgomery Street's three lanes of traffic. The truck then went over a curb, through grass and struck a light pole, breaking the globe of the light pole, then down a curb and stopped up against a parked 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe in the Bruening Rock Products parking lot, causing $2,000 damage to the Tahoe's rear passenger side tire and frame.

Damage to the truck was $200.00 and the light pole damage was $1,000.

Both vehicles were unoccupied at the time of the accident.
