The City of Decorah will open bids October 12th on a project to repair a retaining wall on Court Street. The city council will then hold a public hearing October 16th on the bids for the project.
This portion of the repair project involves the wall and a rough-in of the road and alley. The cost of this portion of the project will be paid by the city. The other part of the project involves paving the road and alley, which will be done next spring.
The new retaining wall will be built using textured stones. The new wall will replace the wall between the Congregational Church on the Miller, Person, Gloe Law Firm. That wall had crumbled, causing traffic to be blocked off.
