Decorah School Board remains the same for 2017-18

The Decorah Community School Board will remain the same as the 2017-18 year begins. The Board held its organizational meeting on Monday night. Ron Fadness and Cindy Schissel had been re-elected to their positions in the recent school board election, leaving the board composition unchanged. The newly constituted board re-elected Ron Fadness as president and John Hjelle as vice-president.

Other roles also remained the same. Krista Vanden Brink will be the Shareholder Board Representative; Ron Fadness will be Assembly Delegate; Brian Petersburg and Cindy Schissel will be the negotiating team for teacher and administrative contracts; Brian Petersburg will be County Conference Board Representative.

Board meetings will continue to be held the second Monday of each month, with the exception of July (to be July 16). December start time may be earlier than the customary 6:00 p.m.
