Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds and Lt. Governor Adam Gregg have presented Colinne McCann with an Individual Governor's Volunteer Award in recognition of her work with Helping Services for Youth & Families.

McCann has spent two years as an IDPH Youth Mentoring AmeriCorps Member, recruiting 54 mentors and matching each one of them with a youth in the community. She has also provided six substance abuse prevention trainings throughout Allamakee, Howard, and Winneshiek Counties.

Said McCann, "I have seen positive changes in youth. Some youth may start out shy but in time blossom and become their own person. Youth Mentoring offers amazing things for our area youth and I am honored to be a part of it and to be recognized for my role."
